Joe Heaney (Seosamh Ó hÉanaí) was an renowned traditional sean nós singer from Carna, Co. Galway, Ireland. He spent most of his adult life abroad, living in England, Scotland and New York City, in the course of which he recorded hundreds of songs. This exhibition created for NUI Galway showcased photos of the artist, his family and friends and his native Connemara along with his life story (as Gaeilge), albums, quotes and song lyrics.
